How to Exfoliate Knees Naturally
Knees are one area of the body where skin can flake, darken or dry out more prominently than other parts of the body. While scented lotions and creams claim to help alleviate dryness, chemicals in these products can actually contribute to dryness, which is why using natural treatments can be more effective. When fighting dry knees exfoliation is essential to remove dead skin, but before you head to the store to buy a pricey exfoliator, try an easy homemade version. Does this Spark an idea?

Mix together 3 tablespoons of almond oil with 1/2 a cup of sugar in a bowl and take the mixture into the bathroom with you to have on hand while you bathe or shower.

Wash your knees in the shower or bath as you normally would with body soap. Use warm water to help loosen and soften skin.

Apply a quarter-sized amount of the mixture to your knee and rub in slow, gentle circles all over and around the knee cap. Repeat with the other knee and rinse each off thoroughly with warm water.

Dab knees with a clean towel so that they are left damp, then rub 1/2 a teaspoon of almond oil over each knee to moisturize and soothe skin.

Tips & Warnings
Exfoliate with this mixture twice a week when you bathe or shower to prevent dead skin from building up on your knees. This also works as an effective weekly all-over body and face exfoliant.
Olive oil, coconut oil or even vegetable oil can be substituted in this recipe as needed. Brown sugar, salt or oatmeal can also be used in place of sugar.
