How to Make PS3 ISO Smaller

Copying a legally owned PS3 video game is a straightforward procedure that can be done on a computer. Disc copy programs that are free and intuitive to use will make a digital ISO file copy of the video game disc. You can decrease the physical size of the ISO file (i.e., make it smaller) so that it can be transported on a USB flash drive, which has limited storage capacity compared to that of a hard drive. The Windows operating system provides a built-in program to compress the file, so no additional software is needed.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click the desktop. Select “New folder” from the pop-up menu. Name the folder in the text field “PS3 ISO.”

    • 2

Drag the icon of the ISO file that was made from the video game onto the folder. Let a moment pass for the file to be “transferred” into the folder.

    • 3

Right-click the folder. Select “Send To” from the pop-up menu. Select “Compressed (zipped) Folder” from the pop-up menu’s submenu. Let the Windows operating system make the ISO file smaller and place it into a new folder on the desktop.

    • 4

Right-click the new folder once it appears on the desktop. Click “Rename” from the pop-up menu. Name the folder “Smaller PS3 ISO file.”
