How to Make Crochet Dolls Stand Up
Crochet dolls are flimsy and can’t stand on their own. To display a crochet doll in an upright position, use a doll stand. A doll stand is a pole mounted to a base. Some doll stands have a waist or head ring to support the doll, while others have a wire pole that is inserted into the back of the doll’s clothing to support the weight. If the crochet doll doesn’t have clothing, use a stand with rings.
Instructions
-
Waist or Head Ring
-
1
Grasp the doll with one hand.
-
2
Open the waist or head ring with the other hand. Spread it open with your fingers.
-
-
3
Insert the doll into the ring. Align the waist with a waist ring and the head with the head ring.
-
4
Release the ring so it clasps the doll and holds it upright.
Wire Stand
-
5
Pull the back of the shirt away from the doll’s torso.
-
6
Insert the wire stand into the shirt.
-
7
Release the shirt. Alternatively, you can stand up the doll via the pants.
-
8
Cut the curved top of the wire stand with wire cutters so the wire separates into prongs.
-
9
Insert the left prong into the left pant leg.
-
10
Insert the right prong into the right pant leg.
