1
Check the washing machine feet by rocking the washer in a diagonal fashion. Use a wrench to adjust the feet if the washer teeters or wobbles when rocked. Move the feet clockwise to tighten, or shorten, the feet or counterclockwise to lift up, or lengthen, the feet. Continue until each foot is in firm contact with the ground. Tighten the lock nuts on each foot until tight against the cabinet of the washer.

2
Tighten the connecting bolts on washing machines installed onto a pedestal. Remove the pedestal drawer to reach each bolt and tighten in a clockwise motion.

3
Remove all shipping bolts from the back of the washing machine, inside behind the front lower panel and under the tub and look for any other leftover packaging material if the washing machine is new or recently installed.
-
4
Watch the floor when the washer is in an active spin cycle for signs of bending or flexing. Place a ¾-inch piece of plywood over the floor to help support the washing machine weight.
-
5
Avoid washing too many or too few items in the washer, as doing this can force the tub off balance or create loud vibrating noises. Make medium-sized wash loads and mix together different sizes to help prevent tangling.
