How to Install Window Scarves
Window scarves are generally made out of a thin, lightweight curtain material. Drape the material around a round curtain rod so it dips slightly down over the upper portion of the window to add a touch of elegance. Use window scarves to dress up large or small windows alike. While window scarves are most commonly used in living room areas, you can also use them in a bedroom, bathroom or kitchen. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Lay the window scarf flat on an ironing board. Fold the scarf in half and iron lightly down the fold to create a crease. Gather the material toward the center crease in a fan pattern.
-
2
Loop the window scarf over the curtain rod's right end, with its midcrease resting on the rod. With the scarf hanging, adjust the fan fold pattern as necessary so the scarf hangs flat.

3
Move the scarf back about 3 feet from the midcrease. Wrap a cable tie around the scarf and hang it loosely from the curtain rod's right-hand side. Locate the midcrease and move 3 feet to the left of it. Wrap a cable tie around the scarf in this location and hang it loosely from the curtain rod's left-hand side. The midpoint should be draped down, lining up with the window's center point.
-
4
Pinch the midpoint along the bottom fold. Pull the upper folds hanging in the right-hand side cable tie. This gives the window scarf a pleated appearance.
-
5
Repeat Step 4 on the window's left-hand side. Try to get the two sides as even as possible. Continue to adjust the scarf until you have achieved the desired appearance. Pull the two cable ties tight to hold the window scarf in place. Cut the excess off each cable tie, using scissors.
