How to Install the Upholstery Attachment on a Hoover SteamVac SpinScrub

The Hoover SteamVac SpinScrub uses directed heat to aid in cleaning a variety of surfaces, but to utilize that directed heat on your upholstery, you’ll need to mount the upholstery attachment to the machine. Doing so requires you to make a few changes to the vacuum’s configuration. To mount the attachment, you’ll first need to attach the accessory hose to the cleaner. It’s a process that can appear complicated but if done in the proper sequence will be completed in only a matter of minutes. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Press down the handle on top of the clean-solution tank at the front of the machine. Pull forward the tank to remove it from the machine to minimize leaking.

    • 2

Pull away the hose from the upper hose holder on the side of the machine. Unwrap the hose from around the upper hook on the handle and pull it free of the machine.

    • 3

Press the handle-release pedal located on the bottom left-hand side of the machine and pull down the deep-cleaner handle until it reaches the floor.

    • 4

Pull up the latch on the rear of the recovery tank to unlock the tank cover. Pull off the cover.

    • 5

Pull up on the panel at the front of the recovery tank and remove it from the tank completely.

    • 6

Slide the converter on the end of the hose into the slot opened by removing the panel until it clicks into place.

    • 7

Pull up the tan collar, labeled “Stair/Upholstery Cleaning Connection,” located on the top of the base of the unit in front of the recovery tank. Press the small hose dangling from the converter hose down onto the cleaning connection.

    • 8

Place the front of the recovery-tank cover under the tabs on the top of the front of the tank to create a hinge. Lower the cover onto the recovery tank.

    • 9

Slide the upholstery attachment onto the other end of the hose until it locks into place.

    • 10

Replace the clean-solution tank to use the vacuum with the attachment in place.
