How to Decorate Your Kitchen Cabinets for a Kid's Party

Create a party she will never forget.

Create a custom look in your kitchen by adorning your cabinets with decor that matches the theme and color scheme for your child's birthday party. This adds more life and color to your kitchen, making it more entertaining for children and guests. Decorating both the kitchen and other areas of the house also allows the decor to flow throughout your home. Utilize counter space in your kitchen and place sandwiches, cookies, cakes and other party foods on the counter.

Things You'll Need

• Decal stickers
• Balloons
• Tape
• Streamer flags
• Silk ivy vines
• Plush safari animals

Instructions

1. Remove items such as pottery, plants and other objects from the top of your kitchen cabinets and place these in another location until after the party.

2. Place vinyl decal stickers that match the theme of the party in random spots on your kitchen cabinets. These stickers look similar to painted-on objects -- but without the mess -- and they come off easily later on. Feature Winnie the Pooh stickers for a Disney theme party or showcase flowers and heart stickers for your little girl's birthday celebration.

3. Adorn the top of your cabinets with colorful balloons that also match your theme. A Winnie the Pooh party might include blue, white and yellow balloons while a girl's ladybug party includes black and red balloons, ladybug-shaped balloons and red balloons with black spots.

4. Tape triangle-shaped streamer flags along the bottom border of your cabinets and do the same around the border of your kitchen counter.

5. Tape silk ivy vines along the border and vertically from the top to bottom of your kitchen cabinets, if you are creating a jungle, monkey or safari theme. You can also place plush safari animals on top of the cabinets to finalize this look.
