How to Make Headbands & Flowers for Toddlers
Little girls wearing flowery headbands can be adorable. This girly accessory allows you to dress up your toddlers for photos and to keep well-meaning strangers from asking whether your child is a girl or boy. While flowery headbands are available in almost every department store's children’s department, the price tag is not always wallet friendly. However, you can make your own flowery headbands for a fraction of the price and in a matter minutes.

1
Gather the materials needed to make your headbands. You need stretchy headbands, which you can find in the hair accessory aisle at most stores, and artificial flowers. The colors and types of flowers you use is up to you. You'll need a hot glue gun, hot glue, ribbon and salon style metal hair clips, also found in the hair accessory aisle, or at a hair accessory store.
-
2
Use scissors to cut the stems from the flowers you are using on your headbands.
-
-
3
Use a measuring tape to measure the width and length of the metal clips you are using. Cut ribbon to match. (You'll need enough ribbon to cover the inside, outside and entire length of the clip.) Glue the ribbon to the clip using a hot glue gun.
-
4
Place a small dot of hot glue on the top of each layer of flower and glue the next smallest layer on top. Repeat this with every layer.
-
5
Glue a jewel or rhinestone at the center of the top of the flower.
-
6
Place a large drop of hot glue onto the ribbon covered metal hair clip and press the bottom of the flower to the clip. Hold it in place for a few seconds to ensure the hold is tight.
-
7
Attach the flowered hair clip to the elastic head band and place it on your daughter’s head as a fashion accessory.
