How to Protect a Wet Makeup Brush After Cleaning
Keeping your makeup brushes clean is essential to avoid breakouts and other skin problems. Dead skin cells, old makeup, oil, bacteria and dirt accumulate on makeup brushes much quicker than you might think, so avoid dusting your face with old dead skin and bacteria by washing your makeup brushes often. A challenge when cleaning your makeup brushes is drying them without knocking them off a counter or children or pets getting hold of them, so look for areas in your home where you know your brushes can dry undisturbed. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Squeeze out as much water from the brush as you can. Use a clean wash cloth to gently squeeze the brush; avoid scrunching and rolling the brush, which can damage the bristles. Getting as much water out of the brush as you can will also help the brush dry faster.

2
Fold another clean, dry wash cloth in half and place the brush on the cloth for drying purposes. The bristles should be set entirely on the wash cloth; the handle can hang off the cloth if necessary.

Set the cloth and brush in an out-of-the-way area of your home where you know it will remain undisturbed while it dries. Choose a sunny window that pets or children cannot get to, or other applicable dry space. Leave the makeup brush in your chosen area overnight and inspect it the following morning to see if it is completely dry. If not, leave the brush where it is and check it again in a few hours.
