How to Extract Audio From data.bin on PSP

If you have a data.bin file stored on your Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) and want to extract any audio content from it, then you will need to use your computer as well as the PSP to extract it. BIN files are image files that contain the contents of an entire disc or alternatively they can be used to store a package of files. In this case, you need to burn the bin file to disc and then see the disc's contents to check what audio files are contained within it.

  1. Transferring the BIN

      Connect your PSP to your computer. Press the "USB" button on your PSP.

      Click "Start," then "Computer."

      Double-click the PSP folder.

      Select your BIN file and press "Ctrl"+"C."

      Switch to the desktop and press "Ctrl"+"V" to paste your file there.

    Burning the BIN

      Download, install and open ImgBurn. Click "Burn image to disc." Click the folder icon, locate and select your BIN file. Insert a blank disc and click the "Burn" icon.

      Download, install and open MagicISO. Click the "Burn image" button. Click the folder icon, locate and select your BIN file on the desktop. Insert a blank disc and click "Burn."

      Download, install and open PowerISO. Click the "Burn" button to open the image burner. Click the "…" button, open and select your BIN file. Insert a blank disc and click "Burn."

    Extracting the Audio

      Insert the disc back into your computer once the burn has finished.

      Click "Start," then "Computer."

      Right-click the disc and click "Explore." Locate your audio files you want to extract, select the files, copy the files and then paste them to your computer.
