Seashells come in many shapes, colors and sizes.

Many brides are choosing not to carry a traditional bridal bouquet, opting for something a little more modern or creative instead. Seashell bouquets are common choices for women with beach-themed or summer-themed weddings. Not only do they look stunning in wedding photos, but unlike flowers, they will never wilt. Seashell bouquets are easy to make and allow for plenty of personalization.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the tip of the wood dowel through the foam ball.

    • 2

Remove the dowel from the foam ball and fill the hole with hot glue.

    • 3

Insert the tip of the wood dowel back into the hole and apply pressure until the glue has dried.

    • 4

Wrap the wood dowel in ribbon then hot glue it in place. The ribbon should match the color scheme of your wedding.

    • 5

Hot glue seashells over the entire surface of the foam ball, holding each one in place until the glue has dried completely. This will be a time-consuming process, but well worth the effort.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use seashells in a variety of shapes and colors.

  • If you want more color in your bouquet, spray paint some of the seashells.

  • If you want your bouquet to be sparkly, add bouquet jewelry.

  • If you like the look of ribbon, tie a ribbon bow around the wood dowel at the base of the foam ball.

  • If you have gaps in your bouquet that you want to fill, use baby's breath or greenery.
