How to Change My Cell Number Multiple Times to Create PVA Accounts

Your carrier must change your phone number for you.

If you want to create multiple accounts on Craigslist so you can sell in extra markets and you want your accounts to be phone verified, you cannot use the same number over and over. Phone-verified accounts require a different number for each account created. There is only one way to change your phone number so you can receive the text or phone call with the verification code.

Instructions

1. Contact your cell phone provider from a phone other than your wireless device. Request a mobile number change. The representative will supply you with a list of numbers to choose from or they will simply assign you the next available phone number.

2. Request Craigslist send the PVA code to your phone. This can be done no sooner than two hours after making the mobile number change or when you can send and receive texts on your phone.

3. Repeat this process until you have set up each PVA account.

Tips & Warnings

• Most carriers charge for a mobile number change that is not due to a technical issue for which the carrier has responsibility.

• Keep in mind you will not get your original mobile number back from your carrier. Once you get rid of your number, it goes into a holding pool for at least 30 days. Once the hold expires, the number is released into the available pool. At that time, you can call and request the number, but chances are slim it will still be available.
