How to Make a Fanny Pack Purse
Fanny packs aren't reserved for '80s costumes anymore. The waist pouch styling of fanny packs are seeing a resurgence on the runways from countless designers, mixing high- and low-end materials. Using a chain and carabiner combination instead of the standard buckle fastening, you can create a fashionable closure that can be worn on the waist or over the shoulder. Cut two 2-inch strips of ribbon. Thread one strip through one end of the chain link.

Fold the threaded ribbon in half. Hot glue the folded ribbon together. Let dry completely.

Hot glue the folded ribbon piece to the back of one of the upper corners of the makeup pouch. Let dry completely.

Unscrew the carabiner opening and hook the carabiner onto the other end of the chain. Screw the carabiner closed.

Thread the second ribbon strip through the carabiner and fold in half. Hot glue the ribbon together. Let dry completely.

Hot glue the folded ribbon to the back of the other upper corner of the makeup pouch. Let dry completely. Use the carabiner to put on and take off the purse.
