How to Make a Balloon Square
Making balloon shapes and animals can be a creative way to liven up a party. Using the simple twist and pinch method, you can manipulate a balloon's shape to form different kinds of objects. Different types of balloons can be used to make different shapes. Once you have learned how to make basic shapes with balloons, you can go on to master more complex shapes using one or more balloons.
Things You'll Need
- 260 balloon
- Helium (optional)
- Ruler or measuring tape
- Marker
- Rubber band or tape

1
Blow up your 260 balloon using either oxygen or helium. The balloon should be long and cylindrical when you are done.
-
2
Tie or knot the end of the balloon to keep the gas from escaping. If you used helium, tie the balloon to something so that it does not begin to float away from you.
-
-
3
Measure the balloon's full length with a ruler or measuring tape. Divide the length by four.
-
4
Mark the balloon at the first fourth, second fourth, and third fourth of the balloon. Once you have made three equidistant marks, you should have four equal-sized sections of the balloon.
-
5
Twist the balloon at the first dot or line until the first section looks like a separate bubble. Wrap the twisted area with a small rubberband or tape it to keep it from untwisting. Repeat at the second and third dots or lines.
-
6
Tie or tape the two ends of the balloon together. If it is not a square, manipulate the balloon until it is.
