Celebrate wintertime by decorating a paper snowman with your toddler. If your child can't get outside to build a real snowman, he can make one indoors using basic art supplies and a little imagination. Paper snowmen make ideal holiday party projects as well as thoughtful cards.

Things You'll Need

  • White construction paper, card stock or three small paper plates
  • Tape (optional)
  • 2 plastic googly eyes
  • Craft glue
  • Orange construction paper
  • Safety scissors
  • Black marker
  • 3 small pom poms
  • Plaid fabric strip

Instructions

    • 1

      Draw a snowman figure using three circle shapes on a piece of white paper or card stock. You might also tape three small paper plates together to create the snowman's body.

      Glue two plastic googly eyes on the top circle. Cut a triangle shape out of orange construction paper and glue it under the eyes as a carrot nose.

      Create the snowman's smiling mouth using a black marker. Glue three black pom poms down the center of the second circle as buttons.

      Cut plaid fabric into a long strip and knot it in the middle. Place a dab of craft glue on the back of the knot and press it onto the paper, in between the first and second circles, as the snowman's scarf.
