How to Crochet a Neckwarmer
A neckwarmer made with super-bulky yarn is a quick crochet project you can do in a night. Even beginners can make a stylish and functional neckwarmer to keep them warm throughout the winter. If you have never crocheted in the round before, this pattern is a simple way to learn. A neckwarmer is a large tube that fits over your head and rests around your neck. Customize its width by working as many rounds as you like.

1
Chain as many stitches as necessary to fit over your head. Start with 35 stitches, wrap the chain around your head, and add more stitches as needed to make the chain 2 inches longer than your head circumference.
-
2
Insert the hook into the first stitch you chained. Wrap it once and pull the wrap through both the first and last stitches, joining the round. Be careful not to twist the stitches when you join.

3
Work one single, double or triple crochet stitch into each stitch of the base chain. Single crochet will create a thick, dense fabric; double crochet will be slightly looser and triple crochet will create an openwork, lacy look.
-
4
Continue working in rounds, joining every round with a slip stitch, until the neckwarmer is as tall as you want it to be.
-
5
Join the last round with a slip stitch, cut the yarn and pull the tail through the last stitch. Weave the yarn tail down the side of the neckwarmer with the crochet hook or your fingers.
