How to Bedazzle a Wedding Veil
American brides paid an average of $274 for their wedding veils in 2006, according to the American Bridal Association. A veil in this price range may include minimal embellishments, but a bride can pay up to $500 for a veil with ornate beading. To make a wedding budget stretch further, consider adding your own beading detail to your wedding veil. Things You'll Need
- Flat workspace
- Towel or butcher block paper to cover workspace
- Wedding veil, factory or hand-made
- Chalk pencil, light colored
- Clear-drying fabric glue
- Toothpicks
- Beads, rhinestones or other decorations

Cover your workspace with an old towel, butcher block paper or other similar covering.

Lay the veil as flat as possible on the workspace. If veil is multi-layered, work with one layer at a time. Secure other layers out of the way.

If desired, mark out a pattern on the veil using a light-colored chalk pencil.

Using a toothpick, apply a small amount of fabric glue to the bottom/back of a bead.

Press the bead firmly into the desired spot on the veil.

Repeat steps 4 and 5 as many times as necessary to complete the design.

Allow glue to dry completely before moving the veil or advancing to the next layer.

Tips & Warnings
Use graph paper to create a design sketch of your veil before you begin. This will help you avoid misplaced beads.
Do not use newspaper to cover your workspace as the ink may bleed onto your veil.
