Bottle cap necklaces make memorable keepsakes for children's birthday parties.

Bottle cap pendants make delightful gifts for loved ones on any occasion. Start collecting metal bottle caps from soda bottles; you can also buy plain bottle caps from craft stores. Let your imagination run wild as you decorate the cap. You can add glitter, faux gems, paint, beads, dessert sprinkles or photos. Instructions

    • 1

Remove the glue seal from your bottle cap if you are using one from a soda bottle. Hold the cap with the pliers and heat it using a crafting heat gun. Heat it until you are able to peel away the seal with a knife.

    • 2

Punch one hole with your hole-punching pliers through the edge of the bottle cap. If you don’t have this type of pliers, use a nail to hammer a hole into the edge, though this won’t have a result that’s as aesthetically appealing as using the hole-punching pliers.

    • 3

Apply your decoration to the inside of the bottle cap. You can use a 1-inch circle photo, or place small items such as dessert sprinkles or faux gems inside the cap. If you choose to use a photo, glue the photo to the bottle cap for added support.

    • 4

Prepare your resin according to the packaging directions. Pour the resin into the bottle cap and place it aside while it cures. Put something over the top to prevent dust getting into the resin. You may also use a resin dot over photos in place of the crafting resin.

    • 5

Attach the jump ring through the punched hole. Insert the necklace through the jump ring. Your necklace is ready to be worn after the resin has cured.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use a candle flame instead of a crafting heat gun to remove the bottle cap seal.
