How to Disable a Silence Compressed Record

How to Disable a Silence Compressed Record thumbnail
Use SCR to disable silent pauses on your SpringWare voice board.

The silence compressed record feature (SCR) enables recording with silent pauses that are eliminated on SpringWare voice boards, resulting in smaller recorded files with no discernible loss of intelligibility. Disabling this feature creates silent pauses throughout the recording. This results in larger files while preserving the intelligibility of audio captured throughout the recording.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the “voice.prm” file in the “/usr/dialogic/data” subfolder.

    • 2

Add “#” to the beginning of each line containing an SCR parameter in order to disable SCR, adjusting the parameters if needed.

    • 3

Use “dx_setparm( )” and the define, “DXCH_SCRFEATURE” to turn SCR on and off. Once enabled, your SpringWare voice board will automatically record with SCR.
