How to Troubleshoot Adium That Quit Unexpectedly
Adium is an open-source messaging application available for the Mac OS X operating system that can communicate with a number of other chat clients such as AIM, Yahoo! Chat and iChat. Troubleshoot your version of Adium to return the software to a functional operating condition. If your version is closing unexpectedly, your application may have been corrupted or a critical program file may have been accidentally removed. As long as you have created a backup of your program, you can restore the application to your hard drive.

Connect the USB cable from the external hard drive that stores the backup files for your Mac.

Click the "Finder" icon and click "Applications." Double-click the "Time Machine" entry to open the restore interface.

Click the "Applications" entry in the Time Machine window. Click the "Adium" icon in the folder and click the "Restore" button. Click "OK" in the prompt that appears to resolve issues with your version of the Adium application.
