How to Get My Wallpaper Back on my Desktop

By Elvis Michael

Your Windows desktop is an integral part of the operating system, as it is commonly displayed whenever your computer is idle. Adding wallpapers is a method of personalizing your Windows profile; wallpaper serves as a user-friendly and accessible feature. If your desktop wallpaper was changed by accident or without your consent, you can retrieve it using Windows 7's Personalization options.

Access the Control Panel by clicking the "Start" menu in the lower-left corner of the screen. Click the "Appearance and Personalization" link, followed by "Personalization." Select the "Desktop Background" option.

Select the wallpaper you wish to apply to your desktop. If the desired picture is not available from the list, click "Browse" and locate it from its target source. After you find it, click "Open" to add it to the list of available images.

Position the wallpaper using the "How Should the Picture Be Positioned" field at the bottom of the screen. For example, this option allows you to center the wallpaper, present it as tiles or stretch it to fit your computer screen.

Click "OK" to apply the wallpaper you wish to use on your Windows desktop.
