Patterned Paper Cylinders
-
1
Use patterned paper that matches the colors of your wedding. Wrap a piece of patterned paper around a cylinder. Mark a small line 1 inch above the top of the cylinder with a pencil.
-
2
Lay the patterned paper on a flat surface. Put a ruler on top of it to make a straight line. Cut the paper with a utility knife where the line was marked.
-
-
3
Affix a piece of double-sided tape to one end of the patterned paper. Attach the end of the paper to the cylinder. Roll the paper around the cylinder evenly.
-
4
Secure the patterned paper to the cylinder with double-sided tape.
-
5
Wrap a thin ribbon around the cylinder, and knot the ribbon. Glue a rhinestone or small decorative button onto the knot.
Ribbon Cylinders
-
6
Wrap a ribbon around the cylinder. Measure it to be 1 1/2 inches longer than the circumference of the cylinder. Cut off any excess ribbon with scissors.
-
7
Attach a piece of double-sided tape to the cylinder. Affix the end of each trimmed ribbon to the tape. Wrap the ribbons around the cylinder evenly.
-
8
Secure the ribbons to the cylinder with double-sided tape.
Arranging Flowers
-
9
Thorns, damaged petals and foliage are unsightly. Remove excess foliage or thorns from the flowers with a stem stripper or your hands. Pull off damaged petals.
-
10
Cold water will prevent flowers from wilting. Fill a large bucket with cold water. Put the stems underneath the water.
-
11
Cut off 2-inch pieces of the stems at an angle using stem cutters. Let the stems soak in the bucket of water for a few minutes.
-
12
Use any flowers of your choice. Hold four of the tallest flowers in your hand, and arrange them into a square shape. Add medium-sized and small-sized flowers to the arrangement one by one until they form a dome shape.
-
13
Bind the stems together with adhesive floral tape 4 inches below the flower heads, and 2 inches before the end of the stems.
