Decorate for Valentine's Day using pink as your inspiration. Whether it's for a party, family gathering or romantic dinner, putting together a pretty pink holiday table is as easy as saying, "I love you." Simple centerpieces, glowing candles and heart-shaped placemats take center stage on a love-inspired Valentine's Day table.

Instructions

1. Create placemats out of pink poster board. Cut giant hearts out of the poster board and use clear contact paper to laminate them. For a children's project, let the kids add stickers, a special handwritten message or painted handprints for a personal touch. Put a placemat at each table setting.

2. Fill glass vases of different sizes with pink and red Valentine candies such as conversation hearts or gummy hearts. Stick lollipops into the candies to create lollipop bouquets or poke several artificial flowers into each candy-filled vase. Use these as centerpieces.

3. Create a more grown-up table with a floating candle centerpiece. Fill a glass bowl with water and a few drops of red food coloring. Sprinkle glitter into the water. Add a few pink floating tealight candles to the surface to make a glowing, pretty table decoration.

4. Fill a cupcake stand with pink-frosted Valentine's cupcakes. Use it as a centerpiece as well as a way to show off the desserts. Use a cupcake as a place card holder by sticking a toothpick or craft stick into a cupcake and taping a name tag to each one. Alternately, write each guest's name in frosting on a cupcake and place it at her table setting.

5. Sprinkle confetti over the entire table. Use pink or red rose petals, or cut small hearts from paper. Use large sequins or shimmery glitter, or try store-bought confetti instead to make the table really pop with color.

6. Arrange miniature bud vases together in the center of the table. Insert one flower into each vase, mixing pink blooms with red for a sweet and fragrant centerpiece. Use different kinds of flowers such as mums, roses and daisies. Tie pink ribbons around the vases for added embellishment.
