How to Care for Kohler Ceramic Sink Finish

Kohler offers a selection of vitreous china sinks, which is basically ceramic that has been intensely heated, covered or glazed with enamel. If you care for the sink properly by conducting routine maintenance and cleaning, you can better maintain the attractive finish of your sink and keep it like new. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could sabotage your cleaning efforts and instead dull the sink surface. Stick with the products recommended by Kohler to have the most success.

• Kohler-recommended cleaners
• Kohler-recommended rust removal cleaners

Instructions

1. Run water into the sink after using it to wash dishes or perform other chores. Turn off the water and wipe the sink dry using a soft cloth.

2. Apply a soft abrasive cleaner to the sink surface. Choose from the products recommended as safe by Kohler. These include Clorox Disinfecting Bathroom Cleaner, Comet Bathroom Cleaner, Fantastik Antibacterial Heavy Duty, Formula 409 Antibacterial All Purpose, Green Works All Purpose, Lysol Bathroom Cleaner, Nature's Source All Purpose, Soft Scrub Gel With Bleach, Soft Scrub Lemon Cleanser and Tilex Bathroom Cleaner.

3. Wipe the sink surface with a soft cloth to scrub the cleaner into the surface. Rinse the sink with clean water and wipe it with a dry, soft cloth.

4. Apply either Bar Keepers Friend or Super Iron Out Rust Stain Remover to the sink surface to remove rust, advises Kohler.

5. Scrub the sink with a soft cloth. Rinse the sink with clean water and dry it with a second soft cloth.
