DIY How to Make Bib Necklaces With Blue Jean Fabric
You can hear those old jeans at the back of your closet beckoning you to give them new purpose. They have certainly seen better days, without rips and tears, but you can turn those old jeans into a new and trendy necklace to satisfy their pleas while showing off your unique fashion sense at the same time. Make rolled flowers from strips of the jeans and then cut a denim crescent bib shape to lay the flowers and attach your necklace chain.

1
Lay out the blue jeans on your work surface. Cut strips from one leg. Make the strips 1-inch wide by about 18 inches long for medium-size rolled flowers. Make about seven to eight strips to fill a small bib for the necklace.
-
2
Fold one of the strips in half and tie a tight knot at the fold. This is the center of the flower.
-
-
3
Twist the length of the ends together. Lay the twists as flat as possible. Dab the knot with the glue and wrap the twisted section of the strip around the knot one time.
-
4
Dab glue around the outside of the wrapped section of the strip and wrap the ends around the center again. Repeat until you come to the very end of the twisted strip.
-
5
Flip the end beneath the flower and sew the end to the bottom.
-
6
Repeat the above steps to turn each of the strips into rolled flowers.
-
7
Cut a crescent shape from the other leg of the jeans. Make a narrow crescent for a thin bib or a wide crescent for a wider bib necklace. Measure the width of your chest, just below the neckline, from the inside of one shoulder to the inside of the other. This is the length you should make the crescent.
-
8
Lay the denim crescent flat. Lay the denim wrapped flowers on the crescent in the order you would like them on the bib necklace. The flowers should completely cover the crescent. Make more flowers, if necessary. Pin the flowers to the crescent, flip the crescent over and sew a few stitches to attach each flower.
-
9
Make one hole at the pointed ends of the denim crescent. Open two jump rings and hook one through each hole. Hook the ends of a length of jewelry chain onto the jump rings and close the rings.
