How to Make Sketches Into Line Art
Making sketches into line art is pretty simple if you have a scanner and the right graphics application on your computer. Sketches can be turned into one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Instead of decorating with art that you buy from a gallery or online store, you can now have one-of-a-kind personalized art adorning your walls.

The first step is to sketch on paper. You can make a sketch of a landscape, person, building or any number of animate or inanimate objects. Don't worry too much about the shadows; the important part is to get the whole subject/object outlined with as much detail as possible.

Place the sketch onto the scanner, scan the image and save it on your computer. Open it in a graphic arts program.

Now that you have the sketch converted into a graphic image on your computer and opened in your graphic software, you have numerous tools that you can use to make changes, adjust brightness and contrast, add shadows, etc. You can also do the reverse if your sketch has a lot of hues and you want to have just the outline of your sketch. Click on the outline option in the software to see just the outline, which will be a line art version of your sketch.
