How to Make a Moving Comic Strip
It's a rainy day and you're looking for a quick and easy project. Illustrating your own moving comic strip is the perfect project to keep you occupied. Kids can use simple shapes and drawings to create a short comic. More advanced illustrators can create intricate comics that tell a short story. Make the comic long or short depending on how much time you have. Take your project a step further by photographing each drawing and turning them into a short movie with production software like iMovie.

1
Select a character or object that you would like to illustrate. Start with simple objects and characters.
-
2
Keep the pages of your notepad together while illustrating. If you separate them, then it may be difficult to put the pages back together.
-
-
3
Draw your character at the very bottom of the first page of your notepad.
-
4
Turn the notepad to the second page. Draw your character on the second page. If your character is supposed to be moving, then draw it in a slightly different position on the second page. If your character is standing still, you should draw it in the same place.
-
5
Repeat step 4 until you have filled all the pages of your notepad.
-
6
Test your moving comic strip by flipping through the pages very quickly. You should see your character move smoothly. If the character does not move the way you want it to, then make any needed changes to your drawings.
-
7
Use markers or colored pencils to color your comic.
-
8
Create a short film by photographing each page of your notepad. Upload the photographs to your computer and use a movie software to create a short movie with your images.
