How to Make an Adjustable Rod Holder for a Boat From PVC Pipe

One reason to own a boat is so that you can take it out on the water and fish. Rather than leaving your fishing poles lying about, it is best to keep them in a holder. There is no need to spend a lot of money purchasing a fishing rod holder for your boat, as you can make one yourself out of common PVC pipe. You can even add attachments so that the holder is adjustable.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut lengths of PVC pipe to the desired length. You can use as many PVC pipes as you have fishing rods.

    • 2

Fit PVC covers over one of the open ends of the pipes.

    • 3

Place your pipes against an area on your boat where you can mount the pipes.

    • 4

Place the brackets over the pipes and use your power drill to secure the brackets to the boat. The rod holders are now done.

    • 5

Cut matching lengths of PVC pipe and place a PVC connector joint at one end. You can now place these additional lengths over the original holders to adjust and increase the size of the rod holders on the boat.
