1
Connect the refrigerator's power plug into a grounded three-prong outlet if the unit isn’t operating. Try plugging in another appliance to the same outlet to see if the outlet is functional. Replace or reset the fuse or circuit breaker if the entire outlet is not working.
-
2
Let 24 hours pass after the Gold refrigerator is first installed before expecting water to be cool when dispensed or for ice to begin filling the ice bin. Turn the ice maker on by pushing the lever next to the ice maker in a down position.
-
-
3
Use the control panel to turn the ice maker off by touching “Temp” and “Fast Cool” simultaneously for three seconds if the ice bin is too full and automatically stops production. Scoop some of the ice off the top of the bin and restore power by repeating the same step.
-
4
Straighten the water line behind the refrigerator if water does not dispense and replace the water filter in the refrigerator compartment if the filter has not been changed for at least six months. Close the refrigerator door firmly and hold an empty glass under the water dispenser for three minutes to flush out any air or debris from the water system. Change the water filter as well if the ice seems small or hollow in appearance.
-
5
Empty out the ice bin if the ice has an off taste or odor and has not been used recently or unwrapped food in the freezer is causing a bad smell. Clean the ice bin and dry thoroughly, and wipe down the freezer with a mild household cleaner. Close food items to prevent smells from transferring to the freezer compartment or ice.
-
6
Touch the “Lock” pad for three seconds if the dispenser is locked but the light is still illuminated. Repeat to lock the dispenser again.
-
7
Keep the doors closed more often if moisture develops inside either the freezer or refrigerator compartment, if temperature does not stay stable or the internal temperature seems too warm. Pull food away from the vents in the side and back of the refrigerator and freezer for better air flow. Set the temperature controls lower by pressing “Temp” on the control panel for three seconds and then the arrow buttons to select a new temperature, followed by “Lock."
-
8
Adjust the temperature controls warmer if the food freezes in the refrigerator or frost develops in the freezer. Touch “Temp” on the control panel for three seconds and then the arrow buttons to select a new temperature, followed by “Lock." Check the ice bin and push down fully if not completely engaged in position, as the temperature in the freezer may be affected if the ice bin is not correctly engaged.
-
9
Clean the door gaskets with warm, soapy water if the doors are hard to open, then wipe down with a clean, damp cloth and dry. Move food away from the front of the compartments if the doors are hard to close and push all drawers and bins closed fully.
