How to Make Splinter Cell Goggles

Splinter Cell is a video game based on the Tom Clancy novel with the same title. Gamers play the game as Sam Fischer, a special agent with a fictional spec ops group called Third Echelon. In the game, Sam Fischer has a pair of futuristic night vision goggles called Tridents, which feature three tubes on a pair of goggles, each with a light inside. You can create your own replica Tridents using household parts, and while they won't let you see in the dark, they will add a level of realism to your Splinter Cell costume.

Things You'll Need

• Ski goggles
• Scissors
• Black Paint
• Paint brush
• General purpose adhesive
• Paper tubes
• 3 LED pen lights
• Ruler
• Marker

Instructions

1. Cut a long paper tube, such as a paper towel roll, into three pieces, then place the three pieces flat against the ski goggles. Place a ruler horizontally against the paper tubes and draw a straight line across all three. Cut each tube at the line; these ends will be angled.

2. Paint each tube with black paint and a paint brush. Allow them to dry.

3. Place the angled ends of the three tubes against the face mask so that two are over where your eyes will be, and one is directly above them and centered in the mask. Rotate the tubes so that all three face forward in the same direction.

4. Glue each paper tube to the ski goggles using all-purpose adhesive. Allow the glue to dry for the duration listed on its tube or bottle.

5. Tape a small LED pen light to the top inner part of each tube. Punch a hole in each tube so that each light's button protrudes out the top of the tube. You can turn the lights on while wearing the goggles by pressing the buttons on the outside of the tubes.

6. Paint the portion of the ski goggles outside the tubes black using black paint and a paint brush, or black spray paint. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly before wearing the goggles.
