How to Make Lady Gaga's Pointy Diamond Costume
Lady Gaga is a flashy pop singer known for her televised stunts and over-the-top costumes. - Diamond template
- Printer
- Poster board
- Ruler
- Pencil

Diamond Clusters

Pull up the diamond template on your computer. Resize the template using a photo or Paint Shop program to print the image in multiple sizes. Lady Gaga's dress incorporates diamond clusters of varying sizes.

Trace the diamond templates onto the back side of the poster board. Cut out the diamond clusters with scissors.

Draw the fold and glue lines onto the front side of the diamond clusters, as shown on the template. These lines mark where you'll fold the diamonds to make clusters. The tabs show where the diamonds shapes will be glued.

Fold and glue your diamond clusters. By following the lines and tabs, your diamonds become three-dimensional clusters.

Lay newspaper out on a flat work surface in a well-ventilated room. Spray paint the diamond clusters gold and silver. Shake the spray paint can and shoot one test spray onto the newspaper. Spray one coat and let it dry completely. Spray a second coat for an even appearance.

Measure the span of your shoulders and record the measurement. Measure from the left side of your hips to the right side and record the measurement. Cut 2 lengths of wide black ribbon using these measurements.

Thread your sewing needle with black thread and tie a knot at the end. Sew the black ribbons to the black dress. Sew one ribbon across the shoulder blades at the back of the dress. Sew the other starting at the front of the hips and wrapping it around to the back.

Attach the gold and silver diamond clusters to the ribbon with fabric glue. Pair varying sizes of clusters together to create the look of Lady Gaga's dress. Let the glue dry overnight before wearing.

Tips & Warnings
This dress is not washable except by hand, so take care not to get it dirty. If diamonds fall off, simply glue them back on with more fabric glue or hot glue.
