DIY Lace Poms
If you are planning a special event such as a wedding reception, bridal shower or birthday party, decorate it with handmade decorations, such as pompoms. Choose a pretty color and style of lace for the poms, which can then be assembled in a matter of minutes and hung from the ceiling, against walls, from stair banisters or outdoors. Lace poms create a beautiful decoration that are inexpensive and easy to make.

1
Cut the lace into equally-sized circles, either freehand or by tracing a stencil onto them first. The circles do not have to be perfectly round, but they should be as close to the same size as you can get them for a more uniform pompom. Depending on the size of your circles and ball, you may need 20 or 30 circles of lace, and possibly more.

2
Cut a 36-inch piece of ribbon and glue the edge of it to the middle of the foam ball. Wrap the ribbon around the perimeter of the ball until it meets the beginning piece of lace and glue it there to secure it. Create a long loop with the remaining length of ribbon, which will be used to hang the pompom, and glue the edge to the ball.

Fold each lace circle in half, place a dab of hot glue in the center of it and fold it once more, applying pressure and holding it for several seconds while the glue dries. Place another dab of glue onto the folded edge of the lace and press it firmly to the foam ball, holding it for several seconds. Continue adding lace until the ball is completely covered.
