How to Stop Losing Parts With Plastic Pallets
Plastic pallets are used to hold stacks of items during shipment, supporting the weight of the product and making it easy for forklifts to drive into a truck and unload the materials by lifting the pallet. If you want to avoid losing, breaking or contaminating items on a plastic pallet, there are a few simple steps you can take to make sure the product arrives at its destination in one piece.

1
Wash off your plastic pallet with a water hose. To ensure that there aren't any contaminants such as oil, dirt, dust or chemicals on the pallet, wash it before putting new product on it. Plastic isn't porous and won't absorb chemicals like a wooden pallet might, which is why they're often used for transporting food.

2
Stack the product carefully on the pallet. Put the heaviest product on the bottom and the lightest on the top to be sure that the weight is distributed evenly and that you have as sturdy a build as possible for your load.

Strap the product down. Wrap it in packing wrap, the industrial plastic wrap that every company has to hold product together, and strap the product down to the pallet with packing straps. Plastic pallets may have eye bolts on them, or holes cut specifically for packaging straps that you can use to hold the materials down. Don't crush any of the packaging, but don't give it any wiggle room, either.

Tips & Warnings
Always check your pallet to be sure there aren't any weaknesses, cracks or broken slats. These can lead to product damage or the pallet itself simply breaking.
