How to Troubleshoot a Sanyo Integrated HDTV
A Sanyo Integrated HDTV has a built-in tuner to select stations from an antenna or cable input. When the turner works properly, you're able to view channels using automatic or manual channel selections with your remote control. If the turner section isn't working, you're able to watch programming from external signal sources such as DVD players, video game consoles or computers. You can only troubleshoot a Sanyo Integrated HDTV for proper connection and operation. Don't attempt to disassemble it for repairs.

1
Plug in your Sanyo integrated HDTV and turn it on. If it doesn't come on, check the power connection and the batteries in the remote control. If it comes on with the on/off button but not the remote, there's a problem with the remote control or the sensing circuits in the TV.

2
Select the antenna input with the remote control and select a channel. If you don't see a signal, try other channels and then check your cable or antenna connection. Remove the connector and inspect for dirt or broken wires. Look for damage to the cable inside or outside, and fasten the outside cable or antenna connection. If connected to an antenna, check for damage to the antenna.

3
Connect a VCR of DVD player that has an output for channel three or four to the antenna input and set the Sanyo to the same channel as the device. If you get a signal from the device but not your antenna or cable connection, the integrated tuner works but your cable or antenna connection is bad.

4
Connect a VCR or DVD video player to one of the external video connections on your Sanyo and select that input with your remote. If you didn't get a picture from the antenna connection but do with a video connection, your integrated tuner section may be bad. If you get no picture at all on any input, the HDTV needs repair service.

Tips & Warnings
If you don't get any sound, adjust the volume and mute controls. The owner's manual has a section called Helpful Hints to help you solve more specific problems.
Never try to open a Sanyo integrated HDTV unless you're a qualified technician. If you are, remember that you may void the warranty by opening it and may have to pay for any faulty components you find. If your outside antenna or cable connection is in a dangerous position or location, don't attempt to check it; call a qualified service person.
