How to Make a Fiesta Centerpiece
A fiesta party can be planned for many reasons such as: a friend or co-worker's going-away party prior to leaving for a Mexican or South American vacation, a unique birthday or engagement party gathering, or celebrating the Mexican army's victory in the Battle of Puebla, also known as Cinco de Mayo. Colorful centerpieces add flair to any celebration and a fiesta-themed party is no exception. Mexican flowers and other traditional items can be used to make a fiesta-themed centerpiece. Things You'll Need
- Vase or glass
- Cut-flower food
- Sombrero
- Cut flowers
- Colored tissue paper
- Hot peppers, gourds or tortilla chips

Place a small round vase or glass in the center of the table; fill the vase or glass with warm water and cut-flower food.

Place a large straw sombrero over the vase so that underside of the sombrero lays flush against the table.

Place an arrangement of bold and bright Mexican-style flowers, such as dahlias, chrysanthemums, orchids and begonias, through the straw of the sombrero so that the cut ends of the flowers are in the vase.

Tie or tape colorful paper tissue, such as red, white and green to represent the Mexican flag, around the side of the sombrero just below the flowers.

Line the brim of the sombrero with various hot peppers and small gourds. Place bowls of guacamole and salsa around the sombrero, and fill the brim with tortilla chips to make the centerpiece functional as well.
