How to Read LIT on Nook

While the Nook e-reader from Barnes & Noble does not support the LIT format for e-books, you can still read your e-books that came with the .lit file extension on the device. You can convert LIT format books to EPUB format, which is supported by the Nook. There are two ways to convert LIT files. You can use a free online conversion tool through the Web, then manually install the e-book to the Nook. Alternatively, you can download a file conversion program like Calibre, convert the file, then load it onto the Nook with a couple of mouse clicks.

Instructions

  1. Online Conversion Websites

    • 1

Open a new Web browser window and navigate to an e-book conversion website like 2epub.com or convertfiles.com.

    • 2

Click the “Browse” button on the conversion website, navigate to your LIT file and click “OK.”

    • 3

Select EPUB as the output format and click the “Convert” button. Wait a few moments for the file to be converted and then download the EPUB file.
