How to Identify the Pressure Switch on a General Motors 4T60E
Like all car transmissions, the General Motors 4T60E is made up of many small and intricate parts. Because everything is so densely packed inside the aluminum case, finding and identifying a particular element can be a challenge. Locating the pressure switch is one of these challenges. The object is small and not labeled; however, finding the pressure switch is not difficult if you know what to look for -- and where exactly to look.

1
Remove the aluminum side cover. Keep the 4T60E sitting upright and look in from the same side. This is the angle by which the pressure switch is visible.
-
2
Locate the pump assay. It looks like a thin, ribbed rectangle slightly larger than a deck of playing cards. You’ll find it on the left-hand side, a little below the middle.

3
Look on top of the pump assay. You will see a small nut screwed about halfway down a lever. This is the pressure switch.
