How to Make Paper Forget-Me-Nots
The Forget-Me-Not flower is traditionally associated with true love and memories. The 15th century legend tells that a knight picked these flowers by a flowing river for his lady love, and accidentally fell in. His armor made him sink so rapidly, that he just had time to throw the bouquet to the maiden and shout "Forget me not!" Forget-Me-Not paper flowers make appropriate decorations for weddings and sell well at fundraisers because of these romantic associations. A paper Forget-Me-Not ensures you have a long-lasting token to give someone special.

1
Draw on the tracing paper the inner white part of the Forget-Me-Not flower in the shape of a star. Draw the size you want to create using the Forget-Me-Not picture as a size guide or do it freehand. Trace the star onto your white card and cut this shape out of the card. Lay the white card stencil on your white paper and draw star shapes.

Cut out the star shapes and put to one side. Draw on your tracing paper the outer blue parts of the Forget-Me Not flower using the picture as a guide. Trace the shape onto the cornflower blue paper and cut out flower shapes.

Cut the yellow pipe cleaners into two-inch lengths. Line up the blue flowers and place the white stars on top. Pierce a small hole in the center of the aligned shapes and insert a yellow pipe cleaner into the center. Twist the pipe cleaner into a whirl circle shape atop the white star side and secure in place. Push the paper flower against the whirl circle so it is tight in place.

Use a yellow pipe cleaner to resemble the yellow center of a Forget-Me-Not. Fasten the flower onto its length with one green pipe cleaner, fusing the small amount of leftover yellow pipe cleaner underneath the flower top. Repeat for each flower you have assembled, until the green pipe cleaner sprigs resemble your Forget-Me-Not picture.
