You’ve made your own birthday cards before, your own homemade coupon books, even your own cookie telegrams, but never before have you made your own scratch tickets. Scratch tickets in general make the perfect stocking stuffer, gift wrapping addition or milestone birthday present; now just imagine that they are homemade and that the prize is anything you can imagine. You’ll have your wedding guests and event goers scratching away like crazy at your one-of-a-kind party favor. Everyone will want to know how you came up with these, and homemade tickets cost only a fraction of what real lottery tickets cost, so everyone is a winner.
Things You'll Need
- Cardstock paper
- Contact paper
- Silver acrylic paint
- Liquid dishwashing detergent
- Paint brush
Design your scratch off tickets on the computer and print them off onto cardstock paper. If your printer doesn’t take thick paper, print them onto regular paper and paste them onto thicker paper. Cut your tickets down to the size, if necessary.
Cut some contact paper to the size of your tickets. Peel it off of its backing and cover the front of your tickets with it, especially the hidden message.
Mix together 1 tbsp. of liquid dishwashing detergent and 2 tbsp. of acrylic silver paint.
Paint over the design that is to be hidden. Make a stencil out of a piece of cardboard if you want the scratch part to be perfectly square. When the paint dries, the ticket is ready to be scratched.
