DIY Felt Toadstool

Toadstools sprouting from the ground, seemingly overnight, can inspire the imagination to think of a mythical world, complete with fairies and gnomes. If your child has a love of the whimsical, create a felt board for her where she can create her own magical worlds by sticking the shapes to the felt base. Include some toadstools in the selection of felt objects.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw the outline of a toadstool onto a piece of white felt. Print out a toadstool template, cut it out and trace around it with chalk if you aren’t comfortable drawing it freehand. Cut out the shape.

    • 2

Draw the outline of the toadstool cap in the same size as the one on the white felt base. Select red felt for a traditional toadstool appearance or use any color of choice. Cut out the cap outline, line it up on the white felt base and attach it with craft glue.

    • 3

Create the dots to adorn the toadstool cap. Draw the outline of different sizes of circles onto the white felt and cut them out. Arrange them on the cap and glue them in place to finish.

    • 4

Let the glue dry overnight before using in felt board play.
