How to Finish a Tunisian Crochet
A Tunisian crochet, also known as the Afghan stitch, is similar to a standard crochet, only the stitches, or knots, are slightly more loose and flat. This style of crochet still uses yarn and a crochet hook. Also, like standard crocheting, you will need to finish, or bind off the project. Binding off is the method of finalizing and securing all of the stitches while removing them from the crochet hook. Without properly using this method, the project could easily unravel and fall apart. You will simply need to know some basic crochet steps and terminology to complete this project.

1
Insert the crochet hook through the second stitch from the end of the project closest to the hook. Slide the hook through the vertical portion of this stitch from the right side to the left.
-
2
Yarn over once. Bring the yarn around the crochet hook and toward yourself.
-
-
3
Pull the stitch in which the hook sits under and through the yarn that has been wrapped around the hook in Step 2 and the vertical portion of the stitch that sits closest to the hook.
-
4
Repeat steps 1 through 3 until you are left with one remaining stitch.
-
5
Yarn over again. Pull the yarn wrapped around the crochet hook through the vertical portion of the remaining stitch. Pull the final loop tight with your fingers to create a final knot to secure the project.
-
6
Cut off the excess yarn with a pair of scissors. Tuck in the tail of the yarn into a nearby stitch to give the project a clean, finished look.
