    • 3

Wring out the filter and let it and the filter housing dry completely.

    • 4

      Replace the filter.

    Clear Clogged Airways

    • 5

Remove the u-pipe on the bottom of the machine by pressing the brightly colored release buttons and pulling hard.

    • 6

Check the pipe for blockages and remove any you see with a long-handled brush. Press the pipe back into the machine.

    • 7

Remove the hose from the wand by pressing the release tabs and pulling the hose from the wand as well as the vacuum.

    • 8

    Clear the Brush Bar

    • 9

Turn the machine on its side and remove the sole plate by twisting the screws to the unlocked position with a coin. All Dyson screws are designed to be removed with just a coin.

    • 10

Cut the hairs, thread and any debris that has wrapped itself around the brush bar using a pair of scissors. Clogs will prevent the brush bar from rotating and the machine wont have suction.

    • 11

Inspect the belt to ensure it is tight and not broken. Remove it if it is broken. The belt will be easily visible around the brush bar, and if it is broken it will be near the brush bar.

    • 12

Install a new belt by wrapping one end around the motor shaft and the other end around the brush bar. Press the brush bar into the machine. The belt will be very tight.

    • 13

Replace the sole plate and tighten the screws to the locked position.
