How to Make a Server Blade
A server blade is a server component that connects to your blade server enclosure. Blade server enclosures, along with the server blades, connect to your network. This connects to your local network so that you can set up file, Web or other localized servers. Various hardware manufacturers produce the capabilities to build a blade server. Therefore, setting up a server blade will differ for each manufacturer. The overall process is generally similar, so these instructions will give you a useful overview of building your server blade.

1
Dismantle your server blade enclosure by unclipping the connecting clips and screws.
-
2
Connect the hard drives. Server blades will typically come with one preinstalled drive, but many feature the capabilities to have an additional hard drive installed as well. This will typically slide into a hard drive slot on you server blade.

3
Insert your memory units. As with the hard drive(s), there will likely be a basic memory (RAM) selection installed with additional ports. Push your memory into place until it clicks.
-
4
Connect any interface input/output (I/O) connector plates that your server blade uses to allow direct connection to this specific server blade, as opposed to the entire unit.
-
5
Rebuild the server blade. Clip everything in and reattach the screws. This will now slot into your server blade enclosure.
