How to Make Pillow-Shaped Favor Boxes
Give party or celebration guests a prettily wrapped memento of the occasion in a pillow-shaped favor box. Favor boxes are suitable for adults or kids. By making them at home, you can choose how large they will be. You can also choose your own colors and designs to complement your celebration decor or dining table color scheme for a formal dinner party.

1
Download and print a pillow box template from the Internet. Print it on paper and transfer the template to card stock, or print it directly onto card stock. A third alternative is to print it on patterned craft paper.
-
2
Score along the dotted fold lines with the pointed end of the bone folder. Line up a ruler along the straight outside edges of the template and trim the excess paper from the template using a craft knife.

3
Fold the paper along the central dotted scoreline, so the pretty side of the paper is facing outward. Open the paper and lay it flat with the pretty side facing downward and the scoreline along the flap closest to you.
-
4
Fold the flap up along the score line. Run the bone folder along the crease. Put a line of craft glue along the flap.
-
5
Fold the paper in half along the central fold line. Press the edges together so the glue on the flap seals the long side of the box.
-
6
Cut the curved outlines along both sides of the box and discard the excess paper.
-
7
Score the four inside curves of the oval shapes on the short sides of the box. First score both curves on one side of the paper, then turn the paper over and score the other side. Use one hand to gently pinch the sides of the box to slightly open it.
-

Use your other hand to push the curved sections inward, so they fold over the the open middle of the box. Work on one curved section at a time, smoothing along the curved score line with your fingers, until all four curved sections are folded over and the box is closed.

Tips & Warnings
If you don't have a bone folder to make score marks along the fold lines, use an embossing tool or the blunt side of the craft knife blade. You can also use the knife to sharply crease the folds by running the flat side of the blade, or the handle, along the crease.
Fill the favor box with small cookies or candies, or whatever other treat is suitable for your occasion, then pop the end flaps closed and trim the pillow box by wrapping it with ribbon.
When you fill the box with treats, first fold the curved sections on one end then add the treats before folding the curved sections on the other end.
