Instructions

    • 1

Align tiles on the wood backing until centered. Draw a line around the tiles with a pencil. Remove the tiles as you will create a frame around the outline.

    • 2

Cut the wood panels with a table saw to fit the panels on the wood backing. Apply wood glue to the back of the panels. Adhere panels to the backing around the penciled outline.

    • 3

Nail in 1-inch brads into the ends of each panel. Sand around the brad to remove any mars or splintered wood. Apply wood stain and allow the frame to dry.

    • 4

Score the outlined area inside the framing with the utility knife. Place tile adhesive on the back of the tile. Secure to the inside of the frame.

    • 5

Clean any adhesive that seeps up around the tiles with a damp rag. Allow the adhesive to cure.

Tips & Warnings

  • Choose a wood that is weather-resistant and is not prone to bug infestation, such as cedar.
