How to Make Styrofoam Eggs Using Napkins
First made popular in the Victorian era, decoupage can be used in a fun Easter craft that even small children can enjoy. Using applique glue, colorful napkins or tissue paper, and Styrofoam eggs, you can create attractive Easter decorations that can be used year after year. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Styrofoam eggs
- Decorative paper napkins
- Applique glue
- Scissors
- Wooden skewer
- Foam or fabric painting brush
- Soft brush
- Block of Styrofoam

Insert a wooden dowel into the narrow end of the Styrofoam egg. The dowel forms a handle so you can hold your egg while you decorate it.

Cut designs out of the napkin that you want to place on your egg.

Spread applique glue on the egg using a foam or fabric painting brush.

Glue napkin cutouts to the egg, smoothing them with the brush to eliminate air bubbles.

Brush a thin coat of applique glue over the napkin cutout.

Repeat until the entire egg is covered in napkin cutouts and glue.

Insert the dowel in a block of Styrofoam and allow the egg to dry.

Tips & Warnings
If you wish, you can coat the entire egg with craft glaze to give it a shiny finish. You can also coat the egg with fabric glitter for additional accent.
