How to Make a Feather Marabou Pen
When you enjoy writing with a pen, you may feel bored using a plain, standard ball-point pen. One way to beautify and embellish a ball-point pen is to transform it into a fluffy, decorative feather marabou pen. With its wispy appearance and glitter base, a feather marabou pen is sure to make your writing experience much more exciting. Everything you need to transform a ball-point pen into a marabou pen can be found at any arts and crafts store.
Things You'll Need
- Tacky glue
- 3 colorful ostrich feathers
- Ball-point pen
- Decorative craft tape, 1/4 inch wide
- Scissors
- Glitter glue
- Miniature plastic jewels

Cover 3 inches on the end of a ball-point pen with tacky glue.

Place the quills of three to four colorful ostrich feathers around the end of the ball point pen. Position the feathers so the quill ends are completely on the end of the pen and the feathered ends are sticking up off of the pen by 3 to 4 inches. Allow the glue to dry for 20 minutes.

Wrap decorative craft tape around the shaft of the ball-point pen, starting 1/4 inch from the top of the pen and wrapping all the way up to the end of the pen. Do not cover the feathers with tape.

Trim off any excess tape using scissors.

Squeeze small dollops of glitter glue around the shaft of the pen, and press small plastic jewels onto each glitter-glue dollop. Allow the glitter glue to dry for 20 minutes before using the marabou pen.
