How to Remove Hairspray Buildup From a Door
The stiff, sticky quality that makes hairspray effective on hair presents a challenge to housekeeping. Things You'll Need
- Microfiber cleaning cloth
- Rubbing alcohol
- Water
- Shampoo
- Baking soda
- Toothpaste
- Ammonia

Dampen a microfiber cloth with rubbing alcohol. Rub the affected area until the buildup is gone.

Mix equal parts shampoo and water. Wet the microfiber cloth with this solution and scrub the door. Rinse the door with cool water.

Mix baking soda and white toothpaste in equal amounts. Apply this paste to the cloth and scrub the door until the hairspray buildup breaks down. Rinse with clear water and wipe the surface with a clean cloth.

Dampen the cloth with household ammonia. Scrub the door until the buildup is gone. Thoroughly rinse the door.
