How to Make a T-Shirt Cute for a Little Girl
A simple T-shirt can come across as plain and boring. However, a plain T-shirt is actually a blank canvas for many fun embellishments. Some are simple enough for your little girl to do herself and some require help, but all of them will dress up a plain T-shirt in no time. Let your sense of creativity free with these fun and simple projects that will make your little girl even cuter than she already is.

- Remnant material
- Scissors
- Fabric glue
- Needle

- T-shirt transfer paper
- Iron
- Ribbon

Select puff paints from your local craft store and let your little girl decorate the T-shirt herself. She can draw pictures, write her name, or use the puff paint to 'glue' buttons or rhinestones onto the T-shirt. Make sure you follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding paint application and aftercare.

Cut out a section of your favorite (prewashed) material into a fun shape, such as a star or a heart. Secure the material to the spot you want it on the T-shirt with fabric glue and sew carefully around the edges to attach it.

Print your favorite photo, quote or graphic from a photo printer onto a sheet of T-shirt transfer paper. Carefully iron the transfer onto the T-shirt, per the manufacturer's instructions. Or, you can also purchase a pre-printed transfer design.

Insert a piece of cardboard into the T-shirt and lay it flat. Stencil or stamp designs onto your T-shirt with fabric paint and foam brushes. Allow the shirt to dry completely before removing the cardboard.

Sew buttons, bows, fabric flowers or pre-made appliques onto your T-shirt. Make sure they are sewn tightly enough to withstand multiple washings.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure that any embellishments you add to your T-shirt are machine washable, pre-washed and won't bleed dye.
Do not add anything to a T-shirt for a toddler that might act act as a choking hazard.
