Removing a Raymond Weil Watch Back

Raymond Weil is a brand of independent watches made in Geneva, Switzerland. Raymond Weil produces fine and luxury timepieces for both women and men. Like other high-priced watches, such as Patek Philippe, Rolex and Breitling watches, care must be used when doing routine maintenance, such as removing the back to change a battery. If you need to remove the back of your Raymond Weil, you can do so yourself, as long as it is not a pressurized model. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Place a cloth on a table or counter. Then put your Raymond Weil on top of the cloth, face down. The cloth will protect the face of your watch.

    • 2

Slip a case blade under the backing at the 12 o'clock or 6 o'clock points, if no screws are present. Gently pop off the backing.

    • 3

Use a watchmaker's screwdriver to remove the retaining screws holding the backing in place if the backing does not pop off. Then pull the backing off the watch and remove the gasket.

    • 4

Set the backing and gasket aside to change the battery or perform other maintenance. Once done, replace the backing by popping it back on or by fastening the screws back in place.

Tips & Warnings

  • Consult your owner's manual or a jeweler to determine if your Raymond Weil is equipped with a pressurized back. Removing a pressurized back may cause damage to the movements if not done by a professional and may void the warranty.
